To our very loyal readers that are still checking out our blog, i'm assuring you guys that we still exist and we are still alive. We won't be updating for quite some time due to exams and other reasons. The band wasn't as active as before, but we'll still try our best to provide fresh videos and stuff.

Looking for a new name

As the title says it, we are looking for a new name. Readers please leave a suggestion in the cbox. The given name must be under these conditions:
1. Positive(not dark like death,dark,murder)
2. Not lame/video game style(apocalypse,nuclear,radiation,biohazard,acid,divine)
3. Preferably in 3 words, and a smooth acronym
4. Gives an image on our music(pop punk,pop rock,alternative)

Another gig!

Yes people, our next gig. It will be for LEO installment at the school hall. 1st of August on a Saturday. Other bands will be performing too, so i am sure whoever is attending this event will have a good time. We will be playing two songs as usual. Our first song will be Poppin' Champagne by All Time Low, you can go listen to it on youtube in advance if you want to. Our 2nd song is still undecided, and it will be a surprise. SS2 Studio...

Well, as promised, here's the update on how we jammed at the SS2 studio..well, to be truthful, it wasn't nearly as nice as Akar Karya...so we played songs which have piano..which was shake it, and pork and beans..we didn't managed to play kelsey, which was so nice on piano..because we fooled around inside the stuffy room..lol..we played this game which involved johan. On Kenzo's cue, he off the lights and we instantly gangbanged Johan..wakaka..it was so fun..but we didn't jam happy birthday for Han Yun..because..lol...lazy to state reason..anyway...we didn't jam for 3 hours..only 2..because...well..the studio wasn't as good(no offense) as Akar Karya..so..yeah...well.Gareth signing off.:)...oh and btw..we won't know when are we going to another band meeting..and sorry for not taking a band picture together..we'll take it next time....:)

Finally......

Finally! After 9 excruciatingly long, painful, wicked days, our exams are finished! It's too good to be true. But we still have our final term exams to worry about. Well, let's worry about that in a couple of months later. For now, let's PARTY!! We are going to a studio in SS2 tomorrow. I've never heard of it. This time, the people who are going will be the usual 5 of us, plus 3more. But first, me, Hong Koon, Johan will be going to Han Yun's house tomorrow, before going to the studio. We'll be jamming there for a whole 3 hours, specially for Han Yun's birthday, which was last monday.. What good friends you have dude..xD. Will update more about our outing tomorrow. Lastly, SCREW BARCELONA...=D..This is Gareth signing off..:)

The History Of IDS

This is how the band was formed. As I(Hong Koon)came into form 4 this year, I met Johan and Gareth as we were in the same class this year. It's my first year knowing them. Things went on normally until students from Nemesu transferred to our class. One of them was Han Yun. I soon found out that Johan, Gareth and Han Yun already knew each other for a long time. The day I was recruited happened when they overheard me singing in class, which is a habit of mine xP. They asked me if I was interested in joining the band they were trying to form. It was still an issue with problems, but I accepted a few days later. Later on, they revealed that they tried to form a stable band in the past few years, but never succeeded. They tried me out in a practice session where I met Kenzo and Deryk. Everyone decided to assign me as the lead vocalist. Later on when Deryk was gone, we repositioned the band and I was given the rhythm guitarist post while Han Yun turns to drums and Johan plays lead guitar. Kenzo sticked with bass.Thus, IDS was born. We were lucky because if Han Yun never came to our class, this band would never have existed. This is Hong Koon signing off. Remember, anything is possible, all you need is just "imagination".

The first song we tried and the first to be recorded, we never had enough practice for this, it just struck our minds, so we decided to try it out. As I said before, it's our first, so mistakes are acknowledged. Johan was supposed to be the rhythm guitarist for this song, but he don't know how to play it, so Hong Koon was requested to play Johan's position instead and he ended up recording for us. Johan you suck!

Lead Guitarist-Mohamad Johan

A tall, dark and handsome guy. Doesn't really have a good voice, but he's a natural in playing the guitar. Needs some practice though. Tends to make small mistakes, which will lead to bigger mistakes in the future if he doesn't practice more. Maybe will regain his preferred position as a rhythm guitarist if we managed to find a drummer.

Drummer-Tan Han Yun

Our star 'player'. He's a master in guitar. Tends to get hyper after holding a guitar(never let go of it, never stop playing it etc.) Overall a great member. A little word fom him { HanYun: Btw, i would like to confess that i am not a master of guitar. I can't play crazy stuff like Si Khay(kaki dilemma) did. If i'm appointed as master, what will he be? Masmasmaster?! Lol. Anyway, i have this gifted ability- perfect pitch(our vocalist Hong Koon have good hearing too), which means good hearing. Wanna know more about me? make friends with me. :) }

Er...dun nid to know about me..I formed this band..managed them..(but sometimes they will manage themselves), and pianist...thats all...:)

A lengzai guy with a lot of freckles on his face. He is very good in Maths, with the exception of Add maths. Tends to sing in class, so we recruited him. Has a nice voice but can't really sing high-pitched songs. His advantage is that he can sing and play at the same time.


Bass Guitarist- Kenzo Yeo Jie Hng

Guy wearing glasses and looked nerdy, but actually he's not. Believe it, he has a girlfriend. He has a passion to musical instruments and knows how to play the guitar and piano. His studies aren't that good, but in future he'll be a famous musician....He certainly hopes so.

IU Day

Sorry for posting this late guys. I didn't have the time to update this blog. Btw, I, Gareth Tan will be included in the job of updating this blog..Well, last Saturday, we had Leo IU Day, and we are supposed to perform. All of us, excluding me, were damn nervous before the performance. I won't be performing, as I missed too much studio meetings with them, so I didn't have much time to practice. Well, I was kinda sad...but I'll be performing at Interact IU, and so on..so..yeah. Anyway, we played two songs, which were Song 2 and Island in the sun. Well, we kinda screwed up Song 2, as Johan's guitar cable had a problem. It's not his fault btw. As he is the lead guitarist, the song became kinda empty till the end. So, we screwd that song. But, on the bright side, Island in the sun was damn perfect, even the guitar solo from Hong Koon was a replica to the real song. It was perfect! But, the downside was, the crowd wanted Ooi Giap's band, 'KakiDilemma' to perform an encore, and they didn't ask us...That is so unfair..but we didn't complain, because their band were far better than us..but I trust we can do better in the future! Now, let's concentrate on our mid-term exam, before we practice fully for the upcoming Interact IU!!!

About us

Ivory Dream School...ah yes, another band name without a meaning( just like Blink 182, Finger Eleven etc.) Well, we might not be famous rock stars YET, but hey,every band has its day( or is it dog..?) and our day will come. We even have our own ritual: eating cendol or rojak before jamming. It's for the sake of........hmm.......luck? This "ritual" seems to backfire though, like that time Johan ate cendol and rojak before practicing and end up getting scolded by Han Yun because he couldn't play well, and he blames the cendol for making his fingers sticky = = Anyways, we (really)x4 appreciate it if we obtain support, especially from our classmates. Our band is still new, so we can be considered as amatuers for the time being. All we need is imagination, and the utmost faith among the band members and our supporters. Lastly, Fenderick if you're reading this stop giving us names based on the initials like I Damn Suck. Fyi, IDS is short for Ivory Dream School.

Ivory Dream School. An awesome name created by Kenzo. I know, some people may have various negative comments on this name (e.g: GAY, LAME), but as long as we like it, we don't care. Hope that no one make a fool or insult this freakin awesome band name. Despite our freakin poor studies, staying in this country, SHORT of SUPPORT, but the spirit and passion inside us makes a great difference! Nothing can stop us from our wildness and hyperactiveness!! Music is our soul! Try to imagine if the world we live on is a total, absolute silence; people living with cold expressions every day every minute and every single second, man i think life like this is no difference than death. Go, Ivory Dream School!!! Show everyone that we are unique! Even though we can't compare to great bands such as We The Kings, Linkin park, boys like girls, Dragonforce, All Time Low, Avenged Sevenfold, Sum 41 etc etc....... But we have our own style. We can be different. Everyone is different. Everone is unique. Somedays, well, this band will become the best.
